What I made in 2022

Hello Friends,

Sometimes as life speeds by we feel like we are accomplishing nothing, that is why it can be so rewarding to pause and look back over the past year! And, so saying, I would love to share with you the major sewing projects I was able to complete this year!

  1. Medieval/Fantasy Outfit

I decided to make this dress after watching the 1982 Ivanhoe! It was rather spur of the moment but I am so happy I followed that inspiration through!

2. Safari Skirt

To make this skirt I upcycled the curtains from my sisters’ and my childhood bedroom! It was a really fun way to bring a beloved pattern back into my life!

3. 1940’s Dress and Waist Outfit!

I simply fell in love with this pattern when I found it! It is such a unique 1940’s look! And totally has a historical throwback!! I also made a matching beret!

4. 1950’s Birthday Dress

It was quite an adventure making this dress. When I found this fabric I knew it had to be made into something epic. I did a lot of self drafting, which was quite challenging! Then made the matching coat from a ’40’s pattern! The finished outfit was perfect to wear for my 19th Birthday!

5. 1940’s University Outfit

This Vest pattern gave me quite the struggles when making, but the skirt was much easier! I do love how this look turned out! And I felt so much like a Midcentury girl at College!

6. Regency Ballgown Ensemble

I had very limited fabric for the Dress, and had to do tons of tedious pattern matching, but in the end it turned out really well!

7. 1860’s Ballgown

I finished this one in November, It was definitely a process, but it was so much fun to wear! (I cant wait for the next Ball!)

And there they are! Not pictured, is the first corset that I made! (that was fun challenge) and other smaller accessories. It was quite the year! And I’m so grateful for all I have been learning throughout my apprenticeship! Skills that make some of these more complicated outfits possible! I feel so blessed to be where I am and have been given the opportunities that I have been! Thank you Jesus!

& Thank you all so much for stopping by!!! See you next time!!
