I hope you enjoy another poem this week. I apologize in not posting last week but my life has been a whirlwind of activities. I am hoping to post more about them as the week progresses!
but for now….
This is a poem I wrote for my grandmothers funeral. She passed a day after my birthday, Her passing was sudden and unexpected. It is hard, and seems almost unreal at times.
I love you Grandma and miss you so very much!
Gone but not Forgotten You slipped away so quickly without a warning or a sigh, We barely had enough time to bid farewell or say goodbye. I find myself forgetful and I think you’re still here, Making plans for the future far and near. Your laugh so cheery, your wet goodnight kisses, And a thousand other things this heart misses. What of weddings and adventures to come? Why did you have to leave us so soon to go home? Alas its to late to convince you to stay, Like a bluebird in winter, you have flown far away. You’re in a beautiful place with no pain or fears. We here below are still full of grief and tears. We shall miss you forever as long as time lasts! You shall live on in your legacy’s past. But I can’t help but wonder if you still see, And from the sky you watch your family. I wonder if you still share our joys and meet our friends, But perhaps it’s not so up in the heavenly realms. I know you will always cared and loved us so much! Your life was a testimony to all it did touch! -Mindy Moyer
