Old-Fashioned Porridge with a Tropical Twist .

Okay, Okay, don’t let the word ‘porridge’ throw you off it actually really delicious and easy. I will walk you though it step by step with pictures but….don’t blame me if your stomach starts rumbling by the end. So what are you waiting for? Grab your apron and lets head to the kitchen.

1-Set your coffer grinder on the ‘fine’ setting and put 1/2 cup of teff in your coffee grinder.

Grind until it is more of a powder (It won’t be perfectly smooth and that’s completely fine.

2- Put the ground teff into a small saucepan and add 1 cup water, put it on medium heat ans stir frequently adding more water as necessary.

Take on orange and zest it, (as you can see I am using a fine peeler which works just as effective.)

Stir all the zest into the sauce pan.

Now sprinkle in some craisins. (How many you add is really up to preference but around 1 and 2 tablespoons should suffice)

Next add a ‘smidgen’ of cloves (if you don’t have a ‘smidgen measurement on you teaspoons then just add a small pinch)

Pour your hot porridge into a bowl. And cut up your zested orange and get the cranberries back out…..(the fun has just begun!!)

There is no 1 way to decorate it so…..just have fun do what you want to.

Add some maple syrup.
Pour on your milk (I use almond)
Now comes the hardest part of all……take a deep breath,
taste but do not inhale!😊

NOTES;

If you don’t have teff, then you can use buckwheat or any other grain that has a deep robust taste.

Let me know if you guys tried it, want to try it, or any variations you have made.

Would you like me to write it out in normal recipe form at the end next recipe?

    Thank you for sharing!
It think it would be great if you put a normal recipe at the bottom
of the page so it’s easy to follow when making.
